Florida: Elementary Science Olympiad. Open to 200 - 5th
grade teachers from Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake and Sumter Counties.
Each teacher will receive a stipend and $100 worth of supplies and
materials. All workshops conducted at a location within each
county. All participants must be present for 5, 2-hour workshops to
receive stipend and materials. Apply online at:

| AFCEA GRANT: The Air Force Communications and Electronics Association
(AFCEA) has generously donated over $4000 to Florida Science Olympiad
for NEW team recruitment and training.
4 NEW teams, middle and/or high school will receive:
- Paid State Tournament registration ($195 value)
- Paid Registration to the Orlando Coaches Conference workshop
($125
value)
- New Coaches Manual (tips for starting and maintaining a Science
Olympiad team) ($20 value)
- Travel funds to conference or competition (Up to $250)
- Materials and supplies for competition ($410 value)
Requirements:
- School has to be Title I and never competed in a state or
regional competition, or has not competed in the last 10 years.
- OR School received a C, D or F.
- Team must compete in the state tournament.
- Team coach must attend the Coaches Conference
- Complete a past tournament survey.
- Principal must agree to pay for registration and any materials
up to $410 value. When the team has competed in either a
regional or state competition, these funds will be reimbursed to the
school.
The deadline for application is October 1, 2009.
